Ta-Da

Yesterday, Labor Day, was a lazy day for us. It was cloudy and after a busy weekend we kind of just chilled out on the back porch for the day. I turned the Harry Potter marathon on the tv because the ballgame didn't come on till 4, and started stitching this Fall into Autumn kit. I stopped long enough to make dinner and eat and then finished up this while watching the ballgame...WE WON...

Notes if you've bought the kit, the Indian Corn is all freehand stitching with satin stitches to give it some color. The wool in the kit is hand-dyed and is mabled with yellow/brown/greenish so you may not need to do the decorative stitching. I decided to play with the stitching on the leaves and like what I came out with. For the vines I used two thread colors, Wonderfil 8wt #128 Alantis and Hand-Dyed Wool thread from Barnegat Bay Dyeworks color Chestnut

I used the chestnut in the vine, around the stem of the pumpkin, corn details and around the red/brown leaf.

I used Wonderfil 8wt #1098 Scorched for the pumpkin and orangish leaf and the Alantis on the green leaf.

All in all I'm happy with the way it turned out and when I texted the picture to a few friends they joked me asking if I was going to run it into a pillow...what can I say...I love making pillows...and yup, it's going to become a pillow.

Okay, now that this project is done...on to the next one

Until Next Time

Be Kind
