My darling husband knows me well...I am a tulip gal...no roses for me.
I came home from the grocery store on Monday to find these beautiful locally grow tulips. I can't wait for them to full open and I just know they will last so much longer than grocery store flowers because they were grown a mile from my house, so from field to home, fresh cut in the morning, who could ask for more.
So knowing I have a thing for tulips I just had to come up with a wool applique design to keep the spring feeling around longer
The design is cut and pressed down. I used Soft-Fuse fusible web to trace and cut the flower, cut out, pressed down and just need to stitch. You can hand stitch or machine stitch the flower down. I'll be heading upstairs to my sewing machine this afternoon to stitching down and turn this pretty design into a spring pillow.
I did make up a few kits for the pillow, it comes with the hand-dyed wool for the flower and leaves/stem and 18"x50" black ticking fabric for the background, enough fabric for you to turn your flower into a pillow or maybe pop it into a frame.
Okay...off for a walk outside then head to the sewing studio.
DONE!!!

I finished up the pillow using machine embroidery. I did put a zipper in the back of the pillow and have it a little "flange" all the way around the pillow. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.
Until Next Time
